Seminar Summaries

Shoulder Health for the Overhead Athlete – This seminar will go over all aspects of self-care to maintain

shoulder health for overhead athletes and crossfitters alike. It will include basic shoulder anatomy

relevant to Crossfit/Weightlifting, self-screens for common mobility deficits, demonstration, and group

practice of various mobility/stability drills to improve overall shoulder health, and modifications to

exercise for pain-free pressing.

Core Stability for Performance and Low Back Health – This seminar will focus on research-based core

stability training to improve performance in the gym, and to help prevent low back related

injuries. It will include a brief lecture on basic anatomy of core musculature the role of the “core” during

exercise/weightlifting, as well as demonstration and group practice of core stability drills for each plane

of movement.

Squat Mobility Optimization – This seminar will provide an in-depth analysis of the lower extremity

mobility demands for full-depth squatting. Attendees will be educated on self-screens for hip, knee, and

ankle mobility deficits to accurately determine what is limiting their squat. It will also include

demonstration and group practice of soft tissue and joint mobilization techniques, as well as corrective

exercise to improve squat positioning.
