Amy Plano is a registered dietitian, author, wife, foodie, super cool professor and well-known sports nutrition expert. She is a registered dietitian (RD) and licensed in the state of Connecticut (CDN). Amy holds a Certification in both Adult and Pediatric Weight Management through the Commission on Dietetic Registration. She has also earned the coveted credential of being a board-certified specialist in sports dietetics (CSSD).
For over a decade, Amy has been working with a wide variety of athletes. Amy provides individual and group/team nutrition counseling and education to enhance the performance of competitive and recreational athletes. By translating the latest scientific evidence into practical sports nutrition recommendations, Amy is able to design the most cutting-edge dietary interventions. Through her research and clinical work, Amy has learned what works and what does not work.
Amy currently works at the University of New Haven as a professor of nutrition and dietetics. Also, she also serves as adjunct faculty for Quinnipiac University. Amy has a thriving Private Practice in Orange, CT. In addition to athletes, she services a wide variety of patients with various struggles including weight loss/obesity, eating disorders, diabetes, heart disease, food allergies, and fertility issues. Amy currently accepts most major insurances including Anthem, Cigna, Connecticare, Healthy CT and Medicare.
