Success just is not about what you will get in the end. True success is the learning, growth, and strength that occurs in the process of what you are doing.
That is the difference between fulfillment and achievement. Too often people go into a new goal and focus only on that goal. They don’t see the learning and growth that is occurring every single day with each new step taken toward that goal. They are blinded by all the daily victories that happen.
Why is this? It often occurs due to having an all or none approach. Then taking this approach and wanting or expecting this goal to happen yesterday. However, with each passing day that you don’t feel you have achieved this goal, comes another day of feeling like failure or getting farther from your goal.
However, with each day comes more opportunities to see all the good that is happening right in front of you. Think about your days and what you did; taking the steps to get into the gym when you didn’t want to. Trying to push the workout a little bit more. Resisting the urge from the food or beverage you shouldn’t have, spending a little less time on your phone and getting connected more, etc. Each day there are probably a hundred amazing steps that each of you take that get you another step closer to where you want to be.
Is every single goal set going to happen? I’m sorry to tell you this, but there is a good chance it will not. If I make a goal to play for the Chicago Bulls, I probably will not get to that point. However, ever single goal set WILL create opportunities for growth, learning, strength and change.
Celebrate your daily victories and feel fulfilled with these efforts. When you can get to this point you will always get another stop closer to bettering your self spiritually, physically, and emotionally. When it is all said and done, the focus is always around bettering and elevating yourselves.
