The kids class starts up this Wednesday at 4:30 pm. Imagine how awesome we all would be if we did this as a child. Think about how great you feel, the relationships you have formed, and the pride you all take in yourselves. We are starting to spread this passion to our children and it is starting at CFM. If you have any questions about how to register email Gina or Amanda at info@crossfitmilford.com.
CrossFit Relentless will be hosting a CrossFit Kids competition on NOVEMBER 7th. That gives us about 72 days to get our game ON. The competition will be appropriate for all kids ages 5 years old through teenagers. Categories will be broken down into skill levels of Pups (~5-8 year olds), Pack (~9-12 year olds), and Big Dawgs (teenagers). However, the decision is up to the kids and their coaches on what category they would like to compete in. WODs will be announced well in advance, so there will be no surprises!

The spartacus challenge, post battle. Brandon Adams won the competition for the men as the fittest male gladiator, and Lee Lipsitz won the event for the woman as the fittest female gladiator. The first workout was a 5 minute AMRAP of 10 overhead squats at 95 and 65 pounds and 10 pull ups, immediately after that they had 10 minutes to find a 1 RM power clean, and then they went into the final workout of 4 rounds of 400 meter run, 21 KB Swings (55/35), 40 double unders. I am proud of everyone that came out and competed, and I hope everyone enjoys the weekend.
The 7 am class got hit with a little team workout of 2 rounds that consisted of a 400 meter sled drag at 25% of your total teams weight, 20 db thrusters, 20 kb swings, 20 box jumps (completed stadium style). Diane, Jocelyn, and Angella took the title in this event.
Part of the crew at the Oly Seminar on Saturday. The one thing that James, I and Colin are in complete agreement about is that 90 minutes is nowhere long enough to hold a workshop. There was a ton of things that we all wanted to go over, but we tried hard to keep the 90 minute timeline for everyone, especially with it being a holiday weekend. We loved holding the seminar and everyone that was there did awesome, we even saw a few PR's that day (me being one of them). So, the next seminar we do will be either longer or focues on just one movement. Please post to comments what you thought about the seminar or email me directly. The feedback will help with the gymnastic workshop on the 18th.
Abbi's already learning how to snatch balance...

Who is going to be woman and man enough to take home the trophies as the fittest male and female gladiators at CFM? Remember the competition will start exactly at 9 am, so if you are going to participate make sure you arrive before 8:30 am to warm up. The workout will start exactly at 9 am SHARP! All volunteers should arrive around 8:15 to help with the set up, and we can never have enough volunteers. The workouts are scalable, so hopefully everyone will come down and step into the arena. The stadium (or CFM) will be filled with roars from the crowd as these brave WARRIORS battle it out. The workouts will be revealed games style, so they will not be released until right before the athletes throw down. So, the main question is what can you expect? Well my question is.... How UNSCARED are you? Show up, have some fun, and get after it with everyone else....
Boccuzzi showed up this morning with some breakfast for Geoff as his going away present... ya it was REAL good... not to mention the mimosa's
The CFM Affiliate has been getting ready for the affiliate throwdown this Saturday in Albany, NY at CrossFit Albany. They have been doing special team WOD's and really attacking their weaknesses lately (do they have any?) Needless to say, the team is ready to get down with the rest of the east coast and we are expecting huge things. This team is going to do some damage and I can't wait to hear how they do. They will be on a special taper all week, so make sure you give them your wishes when you see them. Also, if you are planning on attending the the throwdown let me know so we can all meet up..
Bear crawls for the men's and women's Rugby Team at Yale the other day... they showed up 50 deep!
This Monday is the New Haven Road Race. The CrossFit MIlford Anaerobic Endurance Team will be at the race, and I know that there are a bunch of other CFM Athletes going to run. Make sure that if you are going or you plan on attending you post to comments so that we can all meet up. I believe the meet up spot will be at the red brick Church by the starting line.
